Known Issues
The following issues are known at the time of release.
- DPP-14808: It is possible to delete repository level Time Points though there are Work Items assigned to them. Please take extra care when deleting Time Points. If a Time Point is deleted by accident, create a new one with the same ID.
- DPP-14358: Attachment may not be properly updated when using the "update existing file" action and editing other Work Item fields at the same time. Please double-check the result when updating attachments or refrain from editing other fields at the same time - Save separately.
- DPP-14142: Web Service applications are not allowed to create and update a Work Item in the same transaction if there is an initial workflow action defined.
- DPP-13885: Query Builder on repository level may fail to open if there is many projects or work items (HTTP Status 500). In such case please narrow your search and/or compose the query text in the searchbox.
- DPP-13698: Checkboxes in the web interface may appear shifted when using Mac version of Firefox.
- DPP-13144: Automated Log cleanup job with "maxFileAgeDays" set more then 24 deletes all log files. Please use values below 24 days or do not use the automated log cleanup job.
- DPP-13135: (ALM and Requirements products only) Not all national characters are supported in Module name. Please refrain from using such characters in Module names if you experience problems with seeing, editing or exporting the Module Home.
- DPP-13015: (ALM and Requirements products only) Sorting table view by outline numbers does not work properly.
- DPP-13001: Wiki editor fails to report save failure when Polarion server is not running (has been shut down while editing a Wiki page). Please make sure your valuable work is saved or backed up when doing time consuming edits.
- DPP-12961: (ALM and Requirements products only) Outline numbers are not displayed in Designer when parent item is not loaded. The workaround is to scroll up until the parent is loaded.
- DPP-12950: (Linux) On Debian-based distributions installer does not correctly set open files limit, so Too Many Open Files error can occur. Please see the Install Guide, chapter Common Problems and Solutions, for instructions on how to fix the problem.
- DPP-12565: Process Audit calculation can cause memory problems when executed on projects with many Work Items. This calculation is scheduled to run every day by default; in case of problems please reschedule it or switch it off.
- DPP-11515: (ALM and Requirements products only) When an existing module (or its parent project) is moved or renamed in repository, it may not be possible to follow the history past the move point in Polarion UI.
- DPP-11353: Repository Browser does not fully support Chinese characters in file and folder names.
- DPP-9995: (ALM and Requirements products only) Error may occur on attempt to bulk edit Work Items spread among several projects/modules at once. If you receive message "data.getProject_m() is null" please narrow the set of items you are editing.
- DPP-13128: Some national characters do not work correctly when using the global search for Wiki (problems observed in Firefox). Please try to avoid using national characters in the Wiki search if they make problems for you.
- DPP-12937: The Query Builder show error and does not work if used in a project group starting with folder "projects".
- DPP-12932: Custom sorting is not indicated and remembered when using button "More" to open Work Item table from a Wiki page.
- DPP-12883: Having the same field configured in a single workflow action as cleared and required at the same time is not supported. Example: When only the assignee is allowed to perform a workflow action, he cannot change the assignee value at the same time. Such operation needs to be done in two steps.
- DPP-12619: Images with national characters in name will not show in description. Please do not embed images with national characters in names.
- DPP-12536: Wiki links may not work properly when "page" or "group" is used as a project ID. These are reserved words and may be disallowed in the future.
- DPP-12350: Excel 2007 warns that file extension does not match file format when opening files exported from Polarion or export templates; just confirm the dialog or see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948615
- DPP-12255: Progress wheel image is exported to PDF instead of the Project Sizes chart.
- DPP-12010: The progress indicator of Wiki PDF export may fail to disappear or stop animating properly in some browsers.
- DPP-11885: Wiki Rich Text editor doesn't work properly in Internet Explorer 8 with compatibility mode turned on. Please turn IE8's compatibility mode off while using Polarion.
- DPP-11870: (ALM and Requirements products only) Timeout may occur when reusing a big module (couple hundreds of Work Items). The workaround is to increase Apache ajp timeout value. Please contact Polarion Support in need of assistance.
- DPP-11450: User is not allowed to view detailed Wiki Syntax Help if general read access is not granted. It is granted by default.
- DPP-10484: User passwords may fail to be recognized upon login if they contain some special characters like "+" or space. If you have troubles with logging in, please do not use the problematic characters in them.
- DPP-10295: Table resizing controls in rich text editor are misaligned in Firefox, however they are working properly. This is a Firefox bug #520556.
- DPP-9992: (Windows only) It is not possible to install Polarion server to a path containing ampersand (&). Please select install path that does not contain this character.
- DPP-9081: Harmless error may show in the log after clean installation: [main] ERROR org.apache.catalina.startup.TldConfig - Exception processing TLD META-INF/c-rt.tld in JAR at resource path /opt/polarion/polarion/plugins/com.polarion.portal.jetspeed_3.3.0/libs/standard-1.0.6.jar in context /polarion/workreport
- DPP-8923: Editing wiki page containing unclosed <iframe> tag in Rich Text editor may crash Firefox 3.
- DPP-8728: Internet Explorer: Arrow keys sometimes cannot be used to scroll the wiki page in Rich Text editor. Please use mouse or PageUp/PageDown keys to navigate if arrow keys do not scroll the page properly.
- DPP-7452 - National characters in project location are not supported. Still the application may not reject them upfront. Please refrain from using national characters in folder names in repository.
- DPP-7417: Word or Excel may not be able to save opened Live Document back to the repository after several minutes - after the repository lock expires (probably a bug in windows web folder client). You can increase the expiration period using directive DavMinTimeout inside the <Location> in httpd.conf.
- DPP-7110, DPP-7111, DPP-7164: (ALM and Requirements products only) Moving, deleting or changing structure of Work Items in modules does not result in correct email notifications. Non-structural changes are reflected in notifications as expected, without problems.
- DPP-4838: Character '&' in the name of a project group causes severe problems. Please refrain from using the '&' character.
- DPP-3540: (ALM and Requirements products only) Deleting of Work Records is disabled in Polarion UI for Live Document Work Items. The workaround is to open the document in Word/Excel and to edit the Work Records directly inside the document.
- DPP-3274: Browser history (using Back/Forward buttons) is not working properly in all cases. Please use Polarion navigation controls to return to desired location if Back/Forward buttons of your browser don't bring you to the expected location.
- DPP-3096: Changes of the type of an existing custom field is not handled in a robust way. Existing values may be wrongly parsed (for example on change from string to integer, existing string values will fail to be parsed as integers and will prevent Work Item from being displayed). Please avoid inconvertible type changes.
- DPP-2373: Logging in with a different user name after session expiration is not properly supported. Please use logout and login again to switch the user.
- DPP-11594: httpd console window may stay open after installation of Apache service (observed on Windows Vista). Once the installation is finished, this window can be safely closed manually.
